Vesile is a matchmaking platform for Turkish Muslims in the Netherlands, accessible via vesile.nl. For questions about this privacy policy, contact us at info@vesile.nl.
2. What data do we process?
We process the following categories of personal data:
- •Identification data: first name, age, gender
- •Contact details: email address, phone number, address, postal code, city
- •Background: education, occupation, languages spoken, nationality
- •Photos: optional, maximum 5 (stored privately)
- •Special categories (GDPR Art. 9): religious belief and lifestyle — only processed based on your explicit consent.
3. What is our legal basis?
We process your personal data based on your explicit consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9(2)(a)). You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us.
4. How do we store your data?
- •Registration data is stored in a secure MySQL database on a European server.
- •Photos are stored in an encrypted, private AWS S3 bucket — not publicly accessible.
- •Photos are only shared with a confirmed match.
- •Data is retained as long as necessary for the matchmaking service, or until you request deletion.
5. Do we share your data?
We do not share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. Your contact details and photos are only shared with a confirmed match, with your agreement.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights:
- •Right of access: you can request what data we hold about you.
- •Right to rectification: you can have incorrect data corrected.
- •Right to erasure: you can request deletion of all your data.
- •Right to withdraw consent: you can withdraw your consent at any time.
- •Right to object: you can object to the processing of your data.
Send an email to info@vesile.nl to exercise your rights. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
7. Cookies
Vesile uses only functional cookies necessary for the operation of the website. No tracking or analytical cookies are placed.
