How does Vesile work? An overview of the whole process
How exactly does Vesile work? From registering to getting to know someone, explained step by step: human review, targeted introductions, and how contact arises.

Perhaps you've heard about Vesile and you're wondering: how does it actually work? No swiping, no endless searching, but how then? On this page we walk you through the whole process step by step, from your registration to the moment you get to know someone. That way you know exactly what to expect before you begin.
Step 1: You register
It begins with a registration. You fill in a form about yourself: your background, your religious practice, and what you're looking for in a partner. That takes a few minutes. The more complete and honest you fill this in, the better we can later introduce you to someone who really suits you.
Registering is free, and you're not committed to anything. You also confirm your e-mail address, so we know for sure your registration is real. Only later in the process, when an introduction arises, does something else come into play; more on that shortly.
Step 2: We review your registration
This is where Vesile differs from an app. Every registration is reviewed by a real person, not automatically admitted by a system. We read your registration carefully.
That human review is exactly what keeps Vesile serious. It isn't a place where anyone just walks in; we look at whether a registration is sincere and fitting. That takes a bit more time than a press of a button, but it's the reason you search among serious people on Vesile. Why that human approach matters so much, you can read in why human matchmaking works better than an algorithm.
Step 3: We introduce you to someone
Here's where the core happens. Instead of you browsing through profiles yourself, we search for you. We look at who suits you based on what you've indicated, and purposefully introduce you to someone.
We send new proposals at fixed moments: on Friday and over the weekend. That way you don't have to keep an eye on something daily; you know when you can expect something from us. So you don't get an endless stream, but a targeted proposal to consider calmly.
Step 4: You both say yes (or not)
If you get a proposal, you look at it and decide for yourself. If you don't see it working, nothing happens and you wait for a next proposal. If you do see it working, you indicate that.
The moment you want to accept a proposal, you sign the statement of intention (Niyyah) once: an affirmation that you're searching with a sincere intention to marry. A one-time contribution is attached to it, no subscription. So you don't keep paying monthly; it's one time, at the moment things become serious. More about what that statement is and why we ask for it, you can read in what is the statement of intention (Niyyah).
Step 5: You get to know each other
If you both say yes to the proposal, we share your contact details with each other. From that moment you can get in touch yourselves and get to know each other.
Important: Vesile has no messaging feature. So you don't get unwanted messages from strangers. Contact only arises once you've both consciously said yes, and then you decide for yourselves how it continues. How to best approach that first conversation, you can read in the first conversation after a match: where do you begin. And how to do that safely is in getting to know someone safely as a Muslim woman.
What Vesile deliberately doesn't do
It helps to also know what Vesile isn't. You don't swipe, you don't browse through an endless list of profiles, and you don't get messages from complete strangers. Your photo isn't public; only the person we introduce you to can see it, and only if they've shared a photo themselves too.
It's also not a worldwide pool. Vesile focuses on Muslims in the Netherlands who are seriously looking for a marriage. No long-distance relationships with someone on the other side of the world, but people who live in the same context as you.
